Porcelain tiles or natural stone?
Marble-effect porcelain or real marble, travertine-effect porcelain or real travertine: the question comes up on every project. There is no wrong answer, only different uses.
In short
- Porcelain: even and carefree
- Stone: unique, alive, develops a patina
- Both are laid with the same care
Why
The choice changes the upkeep, the look and the budget. Porcelain fears almost nothing and cleans with water. Natural stone has a unique veining and develops a patina over the years, but it needs sealing and suitable products.
Points to watch
For a pool deck, a heavily used shower or a holiday let, porcelain is often the calmer choice. For an entrance, a living room or a master bathroom, stone brings a depth that porcelain imitates without equalling. Avoid stones that are too soft in kitchens and polished marble on wet-room floors.
How we do it
We show you both as samples, in the light of the room, and tell you honestly what we would do in our own home. We lay both, with the same care.

What sets the price of high-end tiling
