What sets the price of high-end tiling
We are often asked for a price per square metre. We do not give one, because it means nothing for a demanding project. Here is what really sets the price of a tiling job.
In short
- The condition of the substrate
- The format and the material
- The pattern and the cuts
- The place and its access
Why
Two bathrooms of the same size can cost up to three times as much as each other: one needs levelling, waterproofing and cuts around a niche, the other does not. The price follows the actual work, not the area.
Points to watch
The substrate (flatness, moisture, old tiles to remove), the format (a 160 x 320 cm slab is handled by several people with dedicated tools), the material (natural stone is sorted and sealed), the pattern (a chevron needs more cuts than a straight lay), the finishes (stair nosings, skirtings, epoxy grout) and the place (no lift, ski resort, shared building).
How we do it
The technical survey, at €250 excl. VAT, i.e. €300 incl. VAT, deducted from the signed quote, is there precisely to set this price. The quote details every item: preparation, supplies, laying, finishes, protection and cleaning. The price is fixed.

Choosing a tiler for a high-end project
A beautiful tile badly laid is still a bad floor. Here is what we advise you to check before entrusting a stone, marble or large format project, whether to us or to someone else.
Porcelain tiles or natural stone?
Marble-effect porcelain or real marble, travertine-effect porcelain or real travertine: the question comes up on every project. There is no wrong answer, only different uses.
Thin-bed installation with back-buttering
Tile adhesive is applied to the substrate and to the back of the tile.
