Choosing a tiler for a high-end project
A beautiful tile badly laid is still a bad floor. Here is what we advise you to check before entrusting a stone, marble or large format project, whether to us or to someone else.
In short
- Valid ten-year liability insurance
- Work comparable to your project
- A technical survey before the quote
- A layout plan with the quote
Why
Laying often weighs less than the material in the budget, but it decides the result. Badly matched marble, lipping large formats or a leaking shower cannot be fixed without lifting everything.
Points to watch
Ask for the ten-year liability certificate and check that it covers tile and stone laying. Be wary of a quote given without a visit, a price per square metre with no detail, or a vague start date. Ask to see comparable work, in the same material and format.
How we do it
We carry out a technical survey before any quote, provide an itemised quote with a layout plan, and give a firm start date. Ten-year liability insurance is being arranged. The certificate and insurer details will be provided before any work requiring this cover.

What sets the price of high-end tiling
We are often asked for a price per square metre. We do not give one, because it means nothing for a demanding project. Here is what really sets the price of a tiling job.
Thin-bed installation with back-buttering
Tile adhesive is applied to the substrate and to the back of the tile.
Tiled walk-in shower
An even fall, a drain suited to the format, continuous waterproofing under the tiles.
